Invisalign

Invisalign is a clear, removable alternative to braces. Invisalign can be used to widen a smile, straighten crooked or crowded teeth, close gaps, move teeth to correct a misaligned bite, or move teeth to provide space for restorative materials.

At the beginning of treatment, Dr. Skvorak takes impressions of your teeth which are used to create a virtual treatment plan. You can see throughout the course of your treatment how the teeth are expected to move and it provides an estimated treatment length.

Once the treatment is started, the patient receives a series of thin, clear aligners that slowly move the teeth to the desired outcome. Each set of clear aligners are worn for two weeks. Every six weeks the patient is seen, teeth are checked and additional aligners are delivered.

The aligners should be worn for approximately 22 hours per day. Invisalign provides patients with many advantages compared to conventional braces. The clear aligners have improved esthetics compared to conventional orthodontics. There are no diet restrictions, enhanced comfort (no rubbing of cheeks/lips with wire or brackets), tooth movement is more comfortable (reduction in soreness from adjustments), the aligners make it easier to clean teeth and, as a result, it is less likely that patients develop white spots on the outside of teeth.
